New years resolution?  Fancy trying running?

We will be doing some free easy-peasy taster sessions for 4 weeks starting 16th January 2017.  Monday evenings, Douglas Sports Centre meeting room, meet at 6.15 for 6.30 start.

We will simply do a flat out and back route turning around at 15 minutes, so if you need to walk that’s fine, and you won’t be too far from base. We would split into a number of smaller groups so you can find a pace to suit yourself.

We are not professional fitness trainers, just ordinary runners who meet together for runs, we like to share our enjoyment of running and to encourage others.

The aim could be just to get started or perhaps to get back running again from a long break.  If you need a bigger incentive there’s our 5k race on April 23rd to aim for or perhaps you’ve always fancied trying Race for Life.

Our Facebook page (Running Sisters Tayside) is the best way to get more information and to see what other runs we are doing. It is a closed page so you may have to wait to be let in.

You can also email us at run@runningsisterstayside.co.uk if you have any questions and also if you want to discuss whether your current level of fitness is suitable for our usual club runs. (For our club runs it is ideal if you can run at least 3 miles but it doesn’t matter if you run pretty slowly.)

There is no charge for this but we suppose we hope that, if you like it, you would decide to join and carry on running with us. Membership is usually £10 for the year April to April (though we often discount to £5 January to March) …… a bargain as you can get 10% off running gear at sweatshop or run4it.
